How the program works:
The Oleander Van is scheduled for a specific date and location in
Galveston County. These dates are publicized. Women are scheduled for specific times to get their screenings done. A professional provider does
the clinical breast exam and teaches breast self examination to the prescreened women. The mammogram is done on the Van. Mammogram
films are read by UTMB Radiologists. The patient is notified of the results.
Necessary follow up care is arranged by Elia Tarin.
